DESCRIPTION

Villa Kaila is a stunning three-bedroom villa resting upon an expansive 11,000 square metres of beachside land in Bali’s fertile Tabanan regency. The view of the Bali Strait and the glistening black-sand beach just beyond the end of the coconut grove garden is magnificent, and guests can expect to be lulled to sleep by the soothing sound of the ocean waves.

Offering a complete escape from busy city life, Villa Kaila will charm guests with classic architecture, stylish interiors, gorgeous gardens, modern facilities and an extraordinary amount of private space, complemented by a full team of caring staff who will attend to every need.

With its series of single-storey pavilions leisurely spread across the breadth of a terraced coconut grove garden, its elegant interiors and its blend of modern, antique and Dutch-colonial-inspired furnishings, colourful fabrics and artwork, Villa Kaila embraces contemporary-tropical style.

Guests staying here have 11,000 square metres of tropical gardens to call their own, dotted with flowering trees and coconut palms that mingle with the scents of exotic blossoms.

The villa’s comfortable living pavilion, a stand-alone dining pavilion and a separate dining terrace all stand open to the gentle trade winds and dramatic ocean views. In a hidden corner, a self-contained, two-bedroom guesthouse offers a peaceful retreat while on the other side of the gardens the master suite presents complete privacy with its own plunge pool for relaxing in during leisurely afternoons or under clear, star-filled skies at night. The huge garden rolls down to a dazzling 14-metre infinity-edged swimming pool bordered by a stone and grass deck with an open-sided gazebo to one side, and spectacular views of the rugged surf beach and the ocean, which is a mere three minutes’ walk from the villa’s front gate.

A team of polite, thoughtful staff, including an in-house cook, are on hand to look after every need – shopping for groceries and serving meals, snacks and drinks. Guests, meanwhile, can escape to a secluded nook to read, rest and relax, or sip cocktails while gazing from the poolside gazebo at the orange glow of another glorious Bali sunset. Villa Kailasha is ideal for a family or a small group of friends, while its velvety lawns are perfect for weddings and other celebrations against the awesome backdrop of the sea.

DESCRIPTION

Five-bedroomed Villa S. is a masterpiece of design on the peaceful island of Lombok. Bordered by the almost deserted Sira Beach against a backdrop of soothing seas, soaring peaks and sensational sunsets, it presents funky architecture, three swimming pools plus a children’s pool, a stand-alone two-bedroomed guesthouse, a tennis court, exemplary service and gourmet cuisine.

This is tropical living and barefoot luxury at its very best; a place where guests can truly escape. Villa S. is secluded and lusciously private but by no means isolated; prestigious neighbours include the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club, Hotel Tugu and The Oberoi, and the coral-fringed Gilli Islands, with their superb dive sites, are just a short boat ride away.

Canadian architect David Lombardi’s concept of ‘Function over Form’ leaves Villa S.s guests with a sense of discovery and surprise at every turn, from the traditionally styled, grass-roofed building that houses the main kitchen to a futuristic home theatre. Furnishings carry a signature colour theme of black, red and lime green, while the walls are adorned with flair – bamboo, water cascades and conceptual artwork. The first clue to the quirky nature of the artwork is a white sculpture in the coconut grove garden which, in huge black letters, suggests that we should ‘Stop Making Sense’.

The view from the villa’s open-sided living and dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms is unrivalled; here guests can look forward to a vista that is ever-changing with the moods of the sea, sky, neighbouring islands, distant mountains, forests and colourful fishing boats. At night, after a magnificent sunset, the scene becomes even more magical as the moon’s reflection twinkles on the water, presenting a picture of tranquillity and unforgettable beauty.

A full team of staff is on hand at Villa S. to look after every guest’s need with superb cuisine and service. The villa’s manager, chef and head butler were all previously employed by The Oberoi Hotel Group and have been trained to the highest level. A wide range of activities is available to villa guests, including golf, snorkelling, diving, waterfall hikes and mountain trekking, cycling, day trips to the nearby Gili Islands,.

Villa S. rests within an expansive coconut-grove garden and comprises a main single-storey residence with a 25m swimming pool and a children’s pool, plus a stand-alone guest pavilion with two more swimming pools, set well away from the main house. Also within the villa’s grounds are a floodlit tennis court and a lumbung (traditional rice barn) massage pavilion.

The main building is entered via a timber pathway, lined with fire torches. This leads past a feature wall of bamboo and a cascading wall of water. Running parallel to the beachfront, the main building incorporates the living and dining areas, kitchens, three of the five bedrooms, the study and the home theatre.

The guest pavilion is built into a manmade hill capped with grass, and presents an open-sided sitting area and two bedrooms, one of which is semi-subterranean. Both bedrooms are complemented by a deck and a private swimming pool.

Spa

Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask our staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy of your own villa by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply). Here’s a sample of what’s on the menu:

Massage

Release built up tension with a traditional Indonesian massage. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body, you will feel totally relaxed in no time.

Foot reflexology

Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.

Body scrub

A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.

Manicure/pedicure

Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.

Rates include:

The villa and all its facilities, 21 staff including villa manager and chef, 3 swimming pools (plus children’s pool), floodlit tennis court, table tennis, 4 mountain bikes, 2 kayaks, spa/massage room and a stretch of beautiful white sandy beach.

Chef Nengah discusses food and meal schedules with guests at the start of their stay. He then produces three gourmet meals per day (at the very reasonable cost of US$40 per day for adults and US$25 per day for children aged 2-11 years.): a full and hearty breakfast, a three-course lunch and a three-course dinner, plus afternoon tea and snacks. He is happy to accommodate likes and dislikes, special requests and special diets, including children’s meals and low calorie options. Chef Nengah only uses the freshest vegetables and fruits, mostly harvested from Villa Sapi’s own organic garden or from the local market. Fish comes directly from the local fishermen. Poultry is raised locally and organically. Fresh beef and lamb are imported from Australia and New Zealand.

Guests can expect stunningly presented delicious servings of fresh fish, steaks or lamb chops with a colourful array of fresh vegetables; gazpacho soup; gourmet pasta dishes; local dishes such as pepes ikan (fish baked in banana leaf packages); Lombok prawn curry; Sate Ikan Tanjung, which originates from the neighbouring village of Tanjung and features a satay of spiced tuna or snapper fish with an infusion of coconut milk and garlic, pressed onto a lemongrass skewer and grilled. Desserts include a wonderful chocolate fondant. Freshly squeezed fruit juices are always available at Villa Sapi, as well as other soft drinks, beers and a good range of imported spirits (served at cost price) – Mojitos are a specialty. Barbecues or pool balé dinners can be arranged with traditional dance entertainment.

All villa rates are subject to a 5% service charge and thereafter a 10% government tax.
